Week 35- Color Play Friday: Bridge in Fall

Hello 52 Quilters followers! I've enjoyed so much taking over the blog and social media this week, and am excited to share with you today something that I do every Friday!
Color Play Friday is hosted by Trina from In An Otter Life and myself. If you're new to Color Play Friday, head over to my Color Play Friday page to see the rules and my palettes and bundles from previous weeks. You can also search #colorplayfriday on Instagram to see lots of past palettes and bundles.
This photo was taken on a hike at a women's retreat I attended a couple of years ago. I had so much fun exploring here with my friends- it was a perfect fall day.
Bridge in Fall Palette and Bundle
As I picked colors out of this picture, I was surprised to find variations of every color on the spectrum. I decided to play around with that by choosing a spectrum bundle with a fall feel to it.
I chose all my fabrics this week from Hawthorne Threads, so the following links will lead you there. I should note that they are not affiliate links!

A note about scale:
  • While I believe scale is a very important part of fabric selection, the fabrics shown in my Color Play images are not always perfectly to scale. I do my best, by you should always double check scale before ordering!

Don’t forget to head over to the other blogs and see what they came up with! The fun of Color Play Friday is seeing the differences and similarities between everyone’s bundles.

Participants this week:

Laurel and Pine (that’s me!)

In An Otter Life

123 Quilt

Jennifer Lewis

Next week, we will be celebrating the first birthday of Color Play Friday by building palettes and bundles from this fun birthday cake picture. Also, our participants will be given the opportunity for second chance at any picture we've done in the last year. They may either choose one that they missed out on, or one that they feel like they could do a better job of.

And last, but certainly not least- we will be celebrating with some giveaways!  Be sure to check the blog next week for all the details.

I hope you enjoyed Color Play Friday. We’d love for you to get in on the fun and create your own Color Play post! You can create a bundle of fabric, select yarns or embroidery threads, or create a project inspired by our photo. Be sure to let Trina or I know so we can link up to you. You can get in contact with us at colorplayfriday@gmail.com
I hope you can join us next week!
Happy Sewing, ~L
